Topographical Reliquary

In the Topographical Reliquary series, I create display cases that contain fragments of places elements that gain new meaning through their displacement in space and time. Much like Robert Smithson’s Non-Sites or medieval reliquaries, where natural materials such as stones are removed from their original locations to form a tangible link to their source, my reliquaries attempt to capture and convey the essence of the landscape. However, this is not achieved through physical relocation, but through digital reproduction.

Through the process of digital scanning and 3D printing, these fragments are reborn as new artifacts, acquiring an independent presence that bridges memory, materiality, and transformation. Covered in translucent membranes, the display cases evoke a sense of fluidity, seeking to translate place into memory.
