Deliverart is a collective project by Anestis Ioannou, Myrto Katsimicha, Marina Papadaki, and Vangelis Savas a mobile experience based in the center of Athens. The project adopts a familiar and ordinary form from our daily lives: the delivery box becomes both the medium and the exhibition space, bringing the artwork closer to the viewer.
Deliverart seeks to challenge conventional modes of art viewing. The space itself and the elements that comprise it often predetermine the visual associations we form. As a commentary on the fast pace and convenience that define contemporary life, it also explores the cycles of distribution and consumption of an artwork.
Through a physical, real, yet ephemeral and transient action, Deliverart aims to renegotiate both the conditions under which art is experienced and the networks through which it is distributed. It creates a sense of proximity that acts as a counterbalance to the individualistic and detached experience promoted by the “white cube” gallery model.
